Depart From Me! Introduction:

A message to Believers…

Mathew 7:21-23 (NASB). “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23. And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; LEAVE ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ – Jesus Christ-

Would you hire a “scientist” who didn’t know at the very least the definition of the word or what the word implies? Or have the slightest idea of the duties of what that title consisted of?
A Doctor?
An Engineer?
A Veterinarian?
A Mechanic?
A School Teacher?
An electrician?
An Academic Professor, and so on and so forth?
Somebody who is not cognizant or capable to self-cultivate the parameters of the field they wish to represent?

So then why would God the Father want to “hire” an individual to evangelize His Word, be a testament to mankind, be representatives of Divinity, speak on His behalf, preach/spread the gospel, or even inhabit their temple? Why would He want His Word flowing from the mouth of such an individual…..if they did not even comprehend or made the effort to be aware of the definition of their faith?

Do not let your flesh rob you of this revelation. This intro was meant to stir up the spirit and invite self-reflection…..in a good way.

Did you know that the first time the word Christian (Christianos) was used in the Bible was In Acts chapter 11:26? It was used first in Antioch to describe the followers of Christ. Meaning the people that literally followed Jesus Christ around from town to town listening to his teachings as they did not have a word for them. This was before It was the faith that we know today. The Greek word used to describe the followers of Christ was Christianos. “The word Christ means “The anointed one” and tian means “little.” So, the word “Christian” literally means “little anointed ones.” During his life Jesus was called the “messiah” which meant “the anointed one” and we are his “little anointed ones” who have been anointed by his Holy Spirit to represent Him in this world. Interestingly, the word Christian is only found three times in the Bible. However, how do you know if you are truly “Christian?” -Barry Pettit-

John 13:35 (NASB) “By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.” -Jesus Christ-

In its most basic terms, it doesn’t get any clearer than that, but let’s try….

The Bible emphasizes the importance of the Holy Spirit dwelling within believers as a mark of being a true follower of Christ.

Several verses highlight this connection:

Romans 8:9 (NASB): “However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.”

This verse clearly indicates that possessing the Holy Spirit is essential for belonging to Christ.

Ephesians 1:13-14 (NASB) “In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise, who is a first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.”

Here, the Holy Spirit is described as a seal or guarantee of a believer’s salvation.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NASB) “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought for a price: therefore, glorify God in your body.”

This verse underscores that the Holy Spirit dwells in believers as a mark of their identity and relationship with God. These passages point to the Holy Spirit as an essential sign of being a Christian. The Spirit works to guide, transform, and empower believers in their faith journey.

To sum it up all together, you will know if someone is truly Christian by their anointing and their being filled of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives within them and fills them with the glory of God. They are made righteous by faith and have become new creations of love that have love and act out of love for one another. As The Word clearly states, if anyone does not have the spirit of Christ, they do not belong to him. For there are those who profess Christ and there are those who possess him. There are those who say they come in the name of Christ, but do not possess or act out of the love of Christ. They are clearly identifiable from the absence of the anointing which is the Holy spirit that dwells in true Christians and their lack of love for one another. These….are the counterfeit.

Matthew 7:15-16 (NASB) A Tree and Its Fruit-
15. “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
16. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?

2 Peter 2 (NASB) The Rise of False Prophets-
2. But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3 and in their greed, they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

1 John 4:1(NASB) Testing the Spirits-
4. Beloved do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Jeremiah 14:14 (NASB) 14. Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds.

Deuteronomy 18:20 (NASB). But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’

These passages emphasize vigilance and discernment in distinguishing true teachings from false ones. The Bible often advises believers to measure a prophet or teacher’s message against God’s word and to observe their actions, as their “fruits” will reveal their true character.

Nonetheless, we as true Christians are to pray for the counterfeit, our enemies, those who persecute us, those who do wrong by us, even those who do evil. Surprisingly. Loving and praying for your enemies, even those who are evil, is a central theme of Christ’s teachings.

Consider these verses for context:

Matthew 5:44-45 (NASB). But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45. so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. -Jesus Christ-

Romans 12:20-21 (NASB). “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21. Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.

These passages emphasize responding to evil with goodness, not out of approval or naivety, but as a demonstration of God’s love and mercy. The goal isn’t to ignore wrongdoing but to rise above hatred and allow God to deal with justice. It’s admittedly a challenging teaching that asks believers to act counterintuitively—to resist revenge and embrace forgiveness and is something I myself STRUGGLE with on a daily basis.

In conclusion, I am creating a series of letter, papers, passages, documents, whatever you would like to call them, that are academically and biblically cited. The first is entitled “Depart From Me” that is addressed to believers that both profess and possess Christ. To the open-minded individuals who enjoy a good read. I would eventually like to do this fulltime and through all measures of social media. Including videos, audio clips, so on and so forth. It’s basically going to be a comprehensive breakdown of the Bible and its terms, its definitions, its revelations, the fundamentals, and its truths. A critical analysis of it’s misconceptions, and a candlelight in the darkness to the uninformed. So that in the end all who come “in the name” of Christ may be anointed with the Holy Spirit and filled with the love of God. That they in turn can bestow that love unto others. So that they may be authentic in their faith and be true representatives of God. In Jesus name

Amen.
