To Whom it may concern….
There is no such thing as being set apart while remaining a part of the same tree. You can’t claim distinction when your roots feed from the same soil, your trunk rises from the same rot, your branches stretch into the same system, and your leaves mingle among the same crowd. If the tree is corrupted, then everything that grows from it carries that corruption, no matter how sincere your intentions may be. So let me ask you this—how is the world truly supposed to know that you are one of His? One of the new creation? A being that is holy, royal, reborn, Spirit-filled—a son of God by inheritance, by blood, by breath, and by design—if you still wear the same mantle, dwell in the same shade, and find your identity in the same canopy of a name that has been desecrated beyond recognition?
The new creation cannot be mistaken for common. It cannot be confused with cultural conformity or religious association. The sons of God cannot be holy while sharing a root system with a tree that bears the fruit of spiritual death. Today, that tree is called Christianity. And under its rotting branches you will find every imaginable form of counterfeit: bigots who mask their hatred with scripture, racists who believe their blood makes them righteous, Pharisees who trust their performance to earn heaven, politicians who sign injustice into law and baptize it in self-righteous rhetoric, clergy protected from the consequences of molesting children, denominations rewriting God’s word to fit their agenda, lazy spiritual consumers whose faith is a costume, and judgmental voices who claim to speak for God yet have never truly met Him. They all call themselves Christian. They all sit under the same tree. They all wear the same label. And so long as you do too, how is the world to know that you are different?
This is not a message of superiority. This is a warning about indistinguishability. If the world cannot tell you are His—if they cannot see the new creation in you because you’re camouflaged by a corrupted system—then you are not set apart. You are not holy. You are just another leaf in a tree that is destined to burn. The truth is hard: the term Christian, the mantle of Christianity, the title itself, have become idols. They are manmade. God never called you to be a Christian—He called you to be a son. He never designed a religion; He begot a new creation. But the moment you place your identity in Christianity instead of in Christ, you trade the divine for the institution. You replace the Spirit for the system. And you worship a tree that He never planted.
You cannot be new while clinging to the common. And the tree of Christianity has become the most common, mass-produced, prepackaged label in the religious world today. There is nothing holy about blending in. Holiness is distinguishable. Set-apartness is visible. The glory of the sons of God is revealed when they no longer hide among the branches but rise out of the ashes of what man built. This is why the true sons must separate. This is why the new creation must come out from among them. Because the time is coming—and it’s close—when that entire tree will be judged and burned to the ground, and every leaf still attached will burn with it.
So I leave you with one question. And it may be the most important one you’ll ever answer:
How can the world see that you are one of His, when you’re too busy trying to be one of them?
